Raymarine St60 Wind Troubleshooting

  1. ST60 wind instrument can be calibrated and it is possible to download the operation manual from the Raymarine.com website ST60 depth instrument uses fairly low power to establish depth reading so in shallower water it will show a relatively accurate number and in quite deep water, as you've discovered, the displayed numbers are no longer relative.
  2. Need a RayMarine/Raytheon or Autohelm instrument or autopilot repaired? I have some good news for you. Our Raymarine ST60 Tri Data display was shot. The center of the LCD had darkened almost completely — it got even worse than in the photo above — to the point where it was tough to see the depth and impossible to see the speed.
  3. 1.1 Introduction The Raymarine ST60 Graphic Display uses a high-quality dot-matrix screen to display wide a range of data, both from Raymarine via SeaTalk, and from other equipment via NMEA. The ST60 Graphic Display can also supply SeaTalk data to NMEA 0183.
Help required to diagnose problem with ST60 Close Hauled Wind Instrument.
Symptoms. Wind direction working properly. Wind speed showing zero. I've replaced PCB in masthead unit and these are my voltage readings to earth. Yellow (wind) 8V, spec is 0 to 5V. Other wires to spec. Disconnecting yellow from instrument head gives a very low masthead unit output voltage, circa 0.1V variable in 10Kn wind. The open circuit yellow on instrument is just over 8V.
I have swapped the master instrument head with the slave instrument and had identical results prior to replacing the masthead PCB. Is it possible that the original masthead unit blew both instrument heads prior to its replacement?
